First Look: The All-New 2016 Honda Civic Sedan

On Wednesday, September 16, 2015, Honda revealed the incredible new 10th-generation Civic Sedan during a live stream event on YouTube. More new Civic models are on the horizon, including a 5-door hatchback, a coupe, an SI model, and a long-awaited, high performance Civic Type-R. The sporty, dynamic new Civic Sedan arrives at Scholfield Honda in Wichita this November. In the meantime, here are just a few of the many reasons to love this car:

Sporty, Athletic Design

The 2016 Civic Sedan is like nothing you’ve seen before. It features a lower, wider stance that’s designed to create a sense of speed. A longer, wider wheelbase gives it an aggressive stance with superior handling. The comfortable, quiet ride of the Civic Sedan is enhanced with extra visibility provided by LED head and tail lights on the upper trim models. The refined interior and low driver positioning echoes the feel of a luxury sports sedan in a way that’s unheard of in a compact car. In short, the 10th generation Civic Sedan is just fun to drive.

Two Engine Choices

For the first time ever, a U.S. Honda model comes with a turbocharged engine, and even the base engine is the most powerful one ever available on a Civic. The 2016 Civic Sedan LX and EX trim levels will feature a 2.0-liter engine that has 15 more horsepower than the current model. Touring, EX-T and EX-L trims come with a 1.5-liter turbo. Both engines boast best-in-class fuel efficiency, with highway fuel economy ratings of over 40 mpg.

Class-Leading Interior

Inside, the new Civic Sedan has 2 more inches of legroom and 3.7 more cubic feet of interior space, making it the biggest cabin in the compact class. And, it features a trunk that’s 2.6 cubic feet larger than the current model. With premium materials and finishes, the 2016 Civic has a feeling of sophistication and strength.

Industry-Leading Technology

The 10th-gen Civic Sedan’s high-quality technology components include HD radio and integration with Pandora, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The touring trim level includes a powerful 450 Watt, 10-speaker stereo system that is unmatched by its competitors. Additional features include adjustable driver’s and passenger’s seats, LED interior lighting, heated seats in the front and rear, and more.
